Peer support
VKV Ry implements peer support directly between individual members and through various annual gatherings. The aim is to provide a platform for peer support for those in need and network those who have experienced the same life situation to utilize their expertise by supporting others. The focus of the support is on proactive activities aimed at preventing the emergence and worsening of problems. Peer support has generally been found to improve the quality of life, improve mood and maintain work capacity in the midst of a person’s own challenges.
Peer support meetings also aim to include the relatives of the association members, who are also suffering from the disability of their veteran. In the peer support meetings, relatives have also received support from each other and have found sharing experiences valuable.
In 2025, the aim is to organize three (3) peer support events for members and their loved ones.
Regional peer support gatherings aimed only for members are organized 3–4 times a year, mainly in person or alternatively via VTC.
